In lue of the 2020 pandemic and Covid-19 crisis, many of us who were lucky to be able to work from home, had to try to figure out a new normal. How to balance working remotely, while learning the proper way to attend and conduct yourself in a Zoom meeting to taking care of your children and home schooling.
The most important thing you can do each day, is to get out of bed and get dressed! It might sound like a very easy tip but it is the most important one. Sticking to that routine, sets the tone for the day. You don’t need to don that suit and tie or heels and power-blazer, but at least get out of those sweatpants and wear something business casual. Also remembering to shower, brush your teeth help you feel on top of your game.
Having a home office is key. if you don’t already have a separate room for your office, designate an area to be used as your home office. When it comes to working from home, having a work place space is imperative! I know, I know, if you live in a small apartment, this may be difficult, just try to carve out a work “zone’ if possible. If you just do not have the room at home, or your partner can watch the kiddos, you can go to the local coffee shop to work. If it is nice outside, your could sit on your balcony and work. Just getting the fresh air will invigorate your mind.
Working remotely means you can work whenever right? No, you should stick to the normal 9 to 5 if at all possible. This helps you to separate work time from home time and family time. Keeping clearly defined business hours helps your clients and co-workers know when you will be available.
