I. Lead Designer:
VistaGraphics, Inc. production team is looking for Lead Designer for multiple market Visitor Guide magazines and web related materials. Join a talented production team and work on building each market through beautiful ad and editorial design. Designer will be responsible for entire publication, will be required to work quickly an understand the pressures of deadlines, work well with others while maintaining a positive attitude. Must be proficient in core software Creative Suite, especially in InDesign and Photoshop is required. Web experience is a plus. I. Account Executive:
Responsible for the on-going and daily sales and territory activities for defined territories. These activities include all issues regarding sales, production, collections, distribution of publications and customer service to hospitality related accounts and prospects and distribution, merchandising responsibility for specific publications. Sales growth within territory is expected to grow by expanding our current base and by exploiting the opportunities that exist for our various products with our current base. The position of sales reports to the Sales Manager regarding performance against sales goals, distribution, collections and production. A challenging position that covers a wide array of responsibilities especially deadlines with outside clients. Must convey excellent communication skills, ability to handle diligently multiple tasks and deadlines, and convey confidence when representing products.

2. Associate Account Executive:

This position requires extensive, short-term weekly travel to markets and/or assignments. Hampton Roads Magazine is seeking motivated and outgoing interns for the Editorial Department during Spring 2013, Summer 2013 and Fall 2013 semesters. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assembling the Datebook calendar of events, writing/updating editorial for Visitors Guides publications, acquiring images/art, general research and fact checking, assisting in copy editing and proofing pages, helping with large-scale projects and events and general administrative duties. There also may be opportunities to write for the publication. Ideal candidates are college sophomores, juniors or seniors. Experience writing and editing preferred. Internship is unpaid and dates/hours are flexible, although a minimum of 16 hours a week is ideal.

3. Web Design/Development Intern
VistaGraphics is looking for creative college students who would like hands-on web design/development experience. Duties include updating content on existing websites using HTML, content management systems, Dreamweaver and CSS. Required Skills: HTML (hand-coding). Working knowledge of Photoshop (image resizing, cropping, laying out graphics, optimizing), Dreamweaver, CSS or Text Wrangler. Useful skills: Knowledge of using FTP software such as Filezilla, Search Engine Optimization skills and Social Media knowledge a plus. Internship is an unpaid position and dates/hours are flexible.

4. Graphic Design Intern
As a designer within the Production department, you would help sculpt the overall brand of the company through working on editorial pieces, in-book marketing and advertising sections. You will be an integral part of the design team, learning about fast-paced publishing design.
VistaGraphics, Inc, is an in-house creative and content company aimed at creating custom programs and campaigns for our clients and advertisers, nowhere else can you get the professional experience in publishing.

Job Duties
Incorporating creative skills, commercial/advertising awareness, and proficient knowledge of design software (specifically including Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) to develop materials for clients and company projects.
Produce projects to Editorial, Sales and Marketing Departments based on pre-established workflow processes (ie: Job jackets and production schedules)
Projects include but are not limited to event promotions and signage, banner ads, print ad design and page layout. Our day to day is never the same, so you would need to be prepared for anything.

Job Requirements
An internship with the design department is unpaid, but 3 credit hours are normally given to student and requires 16 hours per week minimum, schedule to be determined.

5. Media Sales Intern
Local regional publisher of print and electronic media offers a 120 semester hour internship. Duties will range from prospecting to database management to inside/outside sales opportunities. Overall the program will provide hands-on experience that will help students gain an insight into the normal duties and expectations of business to business development.

Experienced freelance photographer needed for Visitors Guide publications. Must own equipment including lights, cameras, lenses. Will be required to work in the liaison with other professional sales team. Skills Required:

  • Studio-style product photography, much of it on location
  • Photo editing, CS6 preferred
  • Show initiative, with the ability to work efficiently and independently
